TPI Washdown Fan Forced Unit Heaters

Industrial facilities are a breeding ground for dust, dirt, debris, and other hazardous elements. Any owner or employee of these establishments knows full well that they require frequent cleaning and that equipment needs to be hosed down regularly.

But not all types of equipment are made for these conditions. Not all heaters, for instance, can withstand water splashes. In fact, most heaters can get easily damaged when they’re exposed to water or washed down.

The solution? TPI Washdown Fan Forced Unit Heaters.

These washdown heaters or wet location heaters are specifically designed for use in industrial areas where regular washing off dirt and dust from equipment is required.

As these heaters are made for industrial heating, they come with watertight enclosures made of corrosion-resistant steel. Plus, they feature non-metallic control panels with NEMA 4X enclosures, built-in controls, safety temperature controls, and single-point power connections.

All of these features mean one thing: washdown heaters are the perfect heating solution for wet industrial environments.

If you think that these heaters are the ideal heating choice for your facility, you can explore your options from a TPI Corporation distributor, like EngineerWarehouse.com. Or read on and find out why these washdown heaters are your best option.

Motor and Enclosure

TPI Washdown Fan Forced Unit Heaters come with various fan speeds, weights, temperature rise capabilities, voltages, wattages, and other features. But one thing remains the same: all of them are housed in 16-gauge 304 stainless steel shrouds. And if that isn’t sturdy enough for you, you have the option to get one with a 316 stainless steel enclosure.

From the outlet grill and louver assembly to the inlet grill and fan guard, every component of these heaters is made of 304 or 316 stainless steel, guaranteeing a lifetime of quality and durability. The fan blades, meanwhile, are constructed with aluminum, making them lightweight yet extremely durable and rust-resistant. To direct the fan’s air discharge, you can easily rotate the outlet grill and louver assembly.

These fan-forced heaters even come with totally enclosed motors, which are permanently lubricated for optimal performance and built to be corrosion- and moisture-resistant.

Element

Again, every inch of these heaters is made of stainless steel. Even their heating elements come in the form of 304 or 316 stainless steel tubes and steel fins. Their elements are designed with nickel-chromium resistance wires enclosed in compacted dielectrics, ensuring uniform heat transfer with every use.

Control Panel

Built with non-metallic NEMA 4X enclosures, these washdown heaters’ control panels offer extreme watertight and dustproof protection. These control panels are attached to their enclosures, as well as the heating elements, with the use of corrosion-resistant stainless steel fasteners.

These control panels protect the heaters’ three-position fan switches and pilot power lights. You also have the option to get a wall-mounted NEMA 4X thermostat as an accessory.

What’s more, you don’t have to worry about mounting and wiring the heater controls. They conveniently come factory-installed, and the panel doors at the bottom of the heaters offer easy access to these controls.

Mounting Bracket

TPI Washdown Series Heaters come with either of these two mounting brackets: 304/316 stainless steel brackets or cast iron epoxy-painted brackets. These brackets let you securely mount the heater on the wall or overhead structure, making them perfect for different mounting needs.
